Around 1990, I bought one of the first “luggable” computers. It was an IBM PS/2 model 70 Portable. It was a great computer. It has an Intel 386 computer with 8MB of RAM and an amazingly huge 30GB hard disk. I’ve kept in my basement for 25 years. During our recent move, Nathan and I found it and turned it on. It still boots to Windows 3.1. AWESOME.
After some digging around in the directories, we found some old documents. Mostly, my father-in-laws old sermons; weird.
To do a speed test, we wrote a small DOS batch program to count to 50. It took about 3 seconds for the P70. My new computer completed it faster than I could hit enter. Very cool nostalgia.
